A play by Hannah Silva for a large cast of teenage girls.
Commissioned by the Lady Eleonor Holles School. Written during year as ‘writer in residence’ at the school. Performed May 2013.
During the Autumn Term our playwright-in residence, Hannah Silva, held workshops with members of the Lower Fifth to create a play, Orchid. Since January, a team of actors, writers and technical crew from this year group have worked together to bring this challenging production to fruition. The production was performed on 8th and 9th May in the new Theatre to an appreciative audience. Growing up has never been easy, but twenty-first century technology is not making it any easier: Orchid examined some key questions around identity, belonging and friendship in the modern world.
